Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life…” I’ve always had a passion for business. Right back to 1994 when I started my first company, quickly growing it to a turnover of over half a million. It was in precision engineering company, manufacturing Tungsten Carbide Tooling for major industries including, Aerospace and Deep Sea Drilling. Much like the rigorous processes involved in that, I had a real flair for developing effective systems within business- learning, implementing and growing. ‘Gaining knowledge is the first step to wisdom. Sharing it is the first step to humanity…’ From there, I had the opportunities to use what I learnt to help others; coaching individuals through The Chamber of Commerce and Business Links, guiding them through their journey to self-employment, where they could really make their dreams a reality. There was nothing better! Helping people set up for themselves, reach their potential and - of course - have a sturdy pair of shoulder to lean on for any questions or guidance. Through similar programmes I met my Business Partner Eamonn. It became obvious early on we shared the same passions and our skill-sets/ experience complimented one another perfectly, especially with Eamonn\'s Financial background. See, it’s not just about the money for us- but being able to genuinely change people’s lives. Over the years, we have set up hundreds of businesses, for people from all walks of life; helping them to grow, prosper and most importantly: keep them in business, therefore one of my specialisms is working with individual business owners as their personal Business Adviser. This is what we now focus on with iKaN: supporting aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners to achieve success through workshops, mentorships and soon to come, membership.
