About Paul Vanhuffel
Engineering professional with years of plastics and other industry experience going back to 1992. Specific expertise includes: Simulation Analysis, Script Programming, Research & Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Engineering, Hands-on Technical Production Support, Customer Support for FE Solvers as well as Pre- and post-processing, Classroom Instruction of Finite Element software for general purpose applications as well as specifically for Radioss, OptiStruct, CFD (AcuSolve), Forming (Stamping) simulation, HyperMesh, HM for CFD, HM for ABAQUS, HM for LS-DYNA, HM for Moldflow and others. I have created macros for specific customer needs, created export templates for specialized codes, developed a new viscosity model for a thermorheologically non-linear and complex viscous fluid, Expanded an existing viscosity model so as to better represent tested data of thermorheologically non-linear, but non-complex, thermoplastic polymers (converging isotherms over shear rate), mentored newer users both internally and at customer sites.Foreign language studies (reading mostly) include Spanish, French and Japanese.Specialties: Manufacturing Simulation, including: Injection Molding, Stamping, Casting, Metal Extrusion, & Polymer Extrusion; as well as: Plastic Part Design, Tooling Design DevelopmentMechanical SimulationOptimization AnalysisExpertise in using HyperMesh for unusual applications.
