About Paul Tompkins
My passion is the exploration of space, both robotic and human, with the goals of furthering of our species in the Solar System and building on our understanding of Earth, life, and its context in the universe. Over the course of my career, I\'ve been fortunate to have participated in a variety of exciting and diverse endeavors, including commercial communications satellite launch and delivery; analog planetary rover experiments at field sites in Chile and the Canadian Arctic; research and design of advanced software systems for future human and robotic exploration; discovery of water at the lunar south pole; transport of cargo and astronauts to and from the International Space Station; and developing operations concepts and designs to enable the continuation of human exploration of the moon.I take pride in leading teams to success in significant projects, under difficult constraints, working amongst passionate, talented people and learning from them, and being a part of revolutionary developments to push humanity to the planets.In my spare time I enjoy exploring this amazing Earth and pursuing new skills, ideas, and experiences.Specialties: spacecraft mission analysis and operations, spacecraft systems engineering, space robotics and intelligent systems, technology-focused planetary analog field experiments
