Lead counsel for more than half of Google\'s licensed payments entities. This includes Google Payment Corp, Google\'s U.S. payments entity, which offers the heavily regulated Google Pay peer-to-peer money transmission service (and other forms of payment) in the U.S. and processes various types of consumer payments around the world. Also lead counsel for Google\'s payments entities in Australia, Brazil (two entities), Japan (two entities), Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore.* Responsibilities for each of those payments entities include: advising their Boards of Directors, Officers and other members of Google leadership on risk mitigation and other critical issues that arise under global banking, financial services and other payments regulations; advising the product and engineering teams on navigating complex regulatory issues implicated by cutting edge payments product launches and by enhancements of existing payments products involving money transmission, gift cards and other forms of stored value, as well as other forms of payment, such as credit cards, mobile carrier billing, and e-wallets; advising the compliance team on responses to regulatory exams/audits/investigations; advising the compliance team on anti-money laundering and know-your-customer requirements; and advising the public policy team on payments-related lobbying on new and existing legislation.* Responsible Manager of Google Payments Australia Pty Limited.
