ABOUT PAUL SEXTON

Chartered Civil Engineer and leader with over 25 years experience in the water industry working for utility companies and for contractors. The majority of my career has been in leadership roles directing large capital delivery programmes, often undertaken in highly regulated and politically complex environments.Working for Scottish Water since 2014, I have managed three long term alliance JVs, delivering a capital programme of £250m-£300m per annum across Scotland, working with thousands of people in our supply chain to build new and upgraded assets for the benefit of our customers and the environment. Since February 2026, I\'ve taken on a new position leading Scottish Water\'s SR27 Enterprise, an innovative capital delivery model based on Project 13 principles. It brings together 7 partners with Scottish Water in an innovative integrated partnering model that will deliver critical improvements to water and wastewater services, driving greater efficiency and value for our customers. There is no bigger leadership challenge than to achieve Net Zero, and our target in Scottish Water is to achieve this by 2035 (ahead of the wider industry). I lead various initiatives to ensure our embodied carbon contribution through our capital programme drops by 50% by 2026.
