ABOUT PAUL ROUND
Head of Production at Alkegen\'s fiber manufacturing facility in Rainford is my current position. I am responsible for the implementation and delivery of all plant KPIs through the promotion of daily problem solving techniques & team management. Academically: HNC Business Studies- HND Business Studies- BsC Hons Business & Management- MsC with Distinction Business Management & Management Leadership Development - currently completing a Doctorate in Business and Management. I am an avid believer that investing time and effort into creating your Team Leaders and Supervisors will yield tremendous results through 365 autonomous management - Empowerment and the correct training & mentoring of these groups of leaders will always deliver the highest results through loyalty and trust- something that I thrive in doing! Merging Maintenance Operations with Production Operations leadership has been something that I have found to be extremely effective in the removal of timing constraints to productivity and the reduction of waste processes. Creating hybrid Maintenance/Production Team Leaders along the way to deliver daily results, something I have managed to do effectively over the last 10 years and something that I am hugely proud of. 30 plus years of Production and Quality Operations experience, along with Production and Maintenance, Engineering & Management experience over the last 10 years has given me a holistic view to the development of site leadership teams and high volume manufacturing success. Manufacturing Systems in the automotive & glass fiber and thermal fibre manufacturing sectors has given excellent experience at the highest level of leadership skills and training. Through implementation of KPIs, PDCA, GMS, TQM, Lean Management, COMMWIP, Plant Lead for \'Tour du Terrain\'- PSA autonomous management excellence and CI techniques, I believe I have found a rounded successful approach when implementing continuous improvement training and am proud to have many of these aspects which I have included in Theses which have been accepted and even reproduced in lectures. My journey now is to finish my Doctorate within the next year as I have finished the first four years.Vocationally, Plant/Operations Manager is next with a view to Plant/Site Director within 5 years, Management/Lean Management/Business Consultancy or Lecturing in university settings is also something I am open to, however, let us see how the road unwinds!
