Working within the Energy System Integration team and the wider Operations Delivery function, the role spanned the full breadth of clean energy transition — integrating renewables, energy storage, hydrogen, clean fuels, and carbon capture, utilisation & storage (CCUS) into coherent net zero pathways. Contributions spanned strategic planning, programme delivery, and cross-functional collaboration to help develop and deploy technology solutions that make a net zero energy system both achievable and affordable.As a core contributor to the Hydrogen Innovation Initiative, the work focused on defining the strategic opportunity for UK hydrogen and making the case for action — positioning the UK to play a leading role in hydrogen technology development and deployment on the global stage.A secondment to the National Geothermal Centre provided the opportunity to contribute to geothermal energy roadmap development, supporting the long-term planning and strategic direction of this emerging low-carbon technology within the UK\'s broader energy landscape.In parallel, commercial horizon scanning initiatives identified and evaluated emerging technologies for their viability and investibility within the net zero transition. Specific technology services work extended into the maritime sector, partnering with Scottish Enterprise and a cohort of Scottish maritime partners and digital SMEs to drive the implementation and acceleration of digital technologies across the industry.
