As a Principal Consultant at Mima I work on strategy, design of operational environments & systems, and the design of complex & mission critical workspaces.For example, I have worked on strategy with organisations at start-up stage; building their design thinking skills, exploring market opportunities & business cases, and mapping product & development roadmaps.I have helped transport organisations with improving key system stages in their operations (like ticketing & check-in) and helped to optimise the physical design of customer facing features (such as customer service kiosks). Applying spatial design in these areas bridges customer flow and human-centred strategy for digital products and services.I have also helped transport organisations achieve key performance aims through monitoring, measuring and improving customer experience touchpoints that influence user behaviours and associated commercial performance.Across many sectors and regions I have also led the design of complex and mission critical workspaces (ranging in size from 2 to 200 occupants) covering blocking and stacking functional spaces, ergonomic space planning, furniture & interiors, technology features, operator workflows, and environment & wellbeing features to facilitate high-performance workflows and communications. Sectors I have worked in include the emergency services, government, international experimental research centres, aviation, rail, renewables, and data centres.Recent projects include- Digital products strategy and human-centred design for Satellite Applications Catapult (SAC) and Map Impact- Operations design, concept and detailed design for Network Rail and South Western Railway control transformation- Operations design and detailed spatial design of Armada Control Centre for Ocean Infinity- Spatial design of control rooms and associated operations spaces for data centre provider
