ABOUT PAUL P.

Since starting with Kier, I have carried out the role of Project Quantity Surveyor working on a number of projects, in terms of design and cost management, mainly for the local authorities.​​My role whilst at Kier has been more flexible then previously, which mean that I have, when the needs arisen, got involved in varying number of roles, such as D&B co-ordination, Project Management and Estimating. ​I have worked a variety of contracts including JCT 2005 & 2009 Design and build, 2011 Minor Works 1998 with & without quantities, NEC3 Options A,C and short form. My day to day role includes procuring quotations for works, placing orders, managing subcontractors accounts and variation accounts, making payments, reporting on costs and settling finals accounts. Whilst working for Kier have also had some experience on working a claim submitted to the client. I worked as part of a 3 man team going through a project I had not worked on previously to build a case for our claim to submit to theClient. The worked involved working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and Planner to determine what delays occurred and their effect upon the project, picking up errors and discrepancies in the Bill, re-measuring the entire project and putting together an Extension of Time.
