This voluntary role is largely one of oversight, liaison, governance and trouble-shooting. I interact closely with other Chairmen thought the Region and U.K. wide and ultimately, am responsible to the National Chairman for the efficient management and Governance of Durham Branch.

ABOUT PAUL MOORE
An experienced former Army officer with an background that encompasses 34 years of military engineering, operations, project management, training, education, aviation and local government administration.Paul is passionate about Veterans Affairs and the welfare of Veterans in general. Paul is currently the volunteer Branch Chairman of Durham SSAFA. Prior to that he was the Branch Secretary of Durham SSAFA from 2015, and as a volunteer, managed the six SSAFA Divisions and 50+ SSAFA volunteers within Durham County. Prior to this, Paul was also a co-founder and volunteer Director and Chairman to The Re-Org Trust, a Third Sector Not For Profit Organisation from 2011 to 2015. Other than veterans welfare, on leaving the Army in 2010, Paul became self employed and managed a very successful Aero Sports Club, with five employees. He sold the business in 2018 to concentrate on his University studies and family life. He is a British Skydiving Approved Pilot Examiner and fills the role of a line pilot for Sky High Skydiving in Durham, flying the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan (Supervan 900 conversion). In 2021 Paul completed an MSc (Distance Learning)- The Global Military Veteran & Family Studies at Anglia Ruskin University, and has an aspiration to work full time supporting British Military Veterans in the future. His final dissertation was entitled: Are current interventions to prevent suicide amongst UK veterans sufficient, and how might these be developed to better support this vulnerable group? Paul particularly has interest in holistic approaches to Veterans health and welfare, and how a balance of physical activity, social interaction, and diet can assist positive physical and mental health. Paul is currently the Clerk to Easington Village Parish Council where he fulfils the combined roles of Proper Officer and Responsible Finance Officer. He is currently studying for the Certificate in Local Government Administration. In what spare time he has, Paul continues charitable work through organising the Falklands Ride of Respect since 2019, and through Freemasonry. He mostly enjoys spending time with his 9 year old Grand daughter, his wife and two daughters. He sometimes escapes the torment by riding his two very big motorbikes with a bunch of ugly Veterans, drinking beer and his cats. Paul is currently President of the Airborne Forces Riders.
