Neighbourhood Watch Stilts International creates large and middle scale street theatre to surprise astonish and to challenge. This team are famous worldwide for, aerial helium assisted flight, abseiling on stilts, giant inflatable puppets pyrotechnics and original music. All these disciplines are always secondary to the art of illusion. Over 700 shows in 49 countries. NWSI have been broadcast on Chinese news to 800 million, on Globo Brazilian TV (world) 60 million, 30 min doc for Polish tv for have launched many new commissions at Stockton International Festival funded by the Arts Council.Our aim is to to punctuate the cortege of shopping and functionalism with urban hallucination, to work the zone between things and their labels and to discover the extraordinary in the ordinary. To make Art with no concern for genre eg `Abstract Expressionism for the under fives, Pyrotechnic Homage to Dali etc. To combine enormous impact with intimate interaction. Our giant caterpillar eats people, which they seem to enjoy. Our giant spider pounces on the audience, with much hilarity. Our ants play music. Breaking down the barriers between audience and the show so audience, become performers for others to enjoy. We oppose passivity and live for that moment when fiction and fact blend and our fictional being is taken seriously by a `spectator` whether it is an audience member trying to feed one of our birds or cuddle it, or the body language of someone about to be eaten by the caterpillar.
