ABOUT PAUL MCLAUGHLIN

With over 37 years experience, gained in 5 multinational organisations,in various roles, from Operations, Quality Assurance, and Safety and Health, to QHSE Management, I continually challenge myself to gain new skills, qualifications and experience, and take opportunities to develop my competencies, so that I may have a positive impact on business goals and objectives. My QHSE role with BWSC, at Lisahally Biomass Power Station allowed me to further develop my CDM competencies, and developed my management skill set further through having responsibility for managing the Fuel Team at Lisahally, as well as my duties of developing and implementing the QHSE management system onsite. My career progression has most recently taken me back to Du Pont where I am now fortunate to hold the position of EHS Site Leader at Kevlar Maydown. More recently I have also been providing EHS support to other Du Pont businesses in the UK and Ireland to ensure that these other Du Pont businesses are compliant with regional EHS legal requirements, as well as being aligned with the Du Pont Corporate core values for Environmental Health & Safety. My previous H.R.M. experience, as a Director of a community organisation, which included Recruitment and Selection, Performance Appraisals, and the Disciplinary Process, has been of great benefit as I lead the team in achieving, not only site, but regional and global business goals and objectives. I believe that if something is worth doing, then it is worth doing right, and always strive to give 100% to anything I undertake, and this philosophy led me to fund myself, to return to the University of Ulster to achieve my BSc First Class Honours Degree in Business specialising in Human Resource Management, whilst continuing in my full time employment. Professional training and study continued with my goal to obtain my NEBOSH DIPLOMA in order that I may develop professionally to further enhance my career as a competent, experienced and valued Health & Safety Professional. I have also enjoyed my role as a part time football coach, and my philosophy has driven me to gain my professional UEFA A License Diploma. Having coached with Trojans, Oxford, Derry City Academy, and a member of Irish Football Association Coaches to Spain, I also have experience as a first team coach, and First Team Manager in the NIFL Irish League. I am currently also a qualified football referee with the Irish Football Association and regularly referee matches each week.\"Safety Never Sleeps\"
