ABOUT PAUL MC LAUGHLIN
I achieved an MSc. in Fire Safety Engineering from the University of Ulster in 2003. I began my engineering career with Building Research Establishment (BRE), a world renowned research, consultancy, and certification firm. My duties include working unsupervised in a majority of BS, ISO tests, involved in fire risk assessments this included a site investigation of each building, examining the risk and current fire safety protection systems.I joined Chapmanbdsp in 2013 as Head of the Fire Engineering team with responsibilities for preparing fire safety strategy for complex building and advising on all aspects of fire and life safety on a variety of building types, including major retail centres and commercial leisure projects. Advising also on Fire Safety codes and applications. Responsibility for the drafting of Fire Building Services Schematics and Documents and running a team of fire engineers. I was promoted to Operations Director January 2018 responsible for the operational procedures within Chapmanbdsp and head of the Specialist Services Team.I joined BB7 in February 2022 as a Director in the Republic of Ireland Office, and a member of the Opex Group. My responsibilities were to develop the team in the Donegal office, recruit suitable personal for the office, deliver on Ireland and UK projects, get further exposure for the BB7 via social media platforms and awards ceremony. My role on the Opex group was input into the operational aspect of the business.
