Paul J. Magno is the founder and president of Worldwide Helicopter Solutions. In this role, he not only directs the operation, but also actively works projects directly with the clients. One of the facets he most enjoys is conducting the various training classes offered by the company. In many cases, this allows him to finally meet long-time telephone acquaintances face-to-face. Previously, he was the Technical Business Manager in charge of international helicopter support for Honeywell.Paul holds a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and is also an instrument rated pilot and A&P mechanic. He started his career in 1979 with Rockwell-Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa designing electromechanical flight instruments and GPS ground equipment. His desire to work with helicopters led him to accept a position with Sperry Flight Systems in Phoenix, Arizona, a world leader in helicopter flight controls. While at Sperry, he contributed to the certification of numerous different systems aboard a variety of airplanes and, primarily, helicopters, including Aerospatiale, Agusta, Bell, MBB, and Sikorsky. He also served as a company and consultant FAA designated engineering representative with delegations in Systems and Equipment, Structural and Flight Analyst categories. After being promoted into the dual role of customer support and training he trained over pilots, mechanics and technicians. He has an extensive collection of commendations from customers and has won numerous company awards, including Outstanding Customer Support. He founded Worldwide Helicopter Solutions in December, 2002, to provide an answer to the the ever-increasing requirements and complexities of the aviation business along with the decreasing availability and quality of services necessary to keep pace with these rapid changes.
