ABOUT PAUL MACDONALD
Business founder and CCO who conceptualised, co-designed, built and now operates multi-language Formula 1 platform GPFans, multi-language football website and genesis of the estimated transfer value (ETV) metric, FootballTransfers, as well as various other projects in football data, fighting sports, movie databases, and much more. Can also be found broadcasting as an authority on football finance with particular reference to transfer valuations in conjunction with major analytics agency SciSports, as well as discussing the future of human performance and AI in partnership with leading athlete welfare experts, Zone7. As co-founder of Realtimes Network, we operate a range of websites which reach in excess of 15 million global users per month, as well as millions more via multimedia engagement on our social channels, with prominent reach in English, Dutch, Spanish and French, with more to follow. Previously a journalist with 15 years of experience performing every role in the media production business, from news and feature writing through to video production, major event co-ordination & team management. Background in finance with a degree in Accountancy, worked as an expatriate tax advisor for accountancy firm Ernst & Young for two years. After moving to Goal on a full-time basis in 2010 I progressed through news and sub-editing positions before moving to London in 2012. In 2013 I relocated to Leeds in a newly developed role as Global Head of Planning, where I oversaw Goal\'s World Cup project from the budgeting and logistics stage through to the editorial execution from our news base in Rio de Janeiro. In 2015 I moved to a senior role to oversee Perform\'s stock of other sports websites across various territories, where I headed up the rebrand and redesign of Sporting News and Voetbalzone. In 2017 I returned to Goal to run their English language operation worldwide, with specific focus on US and UK territories. In November 2017 I co-founded Sportsfan Media, which would ultimately become Realtimes Network. We have grown from small beginnings to a 60-strong team of staff snd freelancers working across multiple brands such as GPFans, FootballTransfers, FootballCritic, FCUpdate, MovieMeter, FightFans, and many more.
