Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all immunization activities for the Immunization Services Division. Provide the vision, leadership, and management to protect children and adults from potentially life-threatening, vaccine-preventable diseases. Direct the work of 40 professional, paraprofessional, and clerical staff across six sections: Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program, Vaccine Management, Adult Immunization, Immunization Information System (IIS), Finance/Administration, and Clinical Services. Develop and manage a fifty million dollar operating budget comprised of multiple funding sources (federal, state and city). Manage the performance, ongoing development and training of Division staff and conducts performance evaluations of supervisory staff. Evaluate program performance and design and implement quality improvement strategies. Liaison with other City of Chicago departments, outside agencies, and the general public to enhance and promote immunization service delivery. Represents the Chicago Department of Public Health at local, state, and national forums.
