ABOUT PAUL KNIGHTLEY
I have started a new position at DTN, as from June 2022. This role sees me lead the weather room teams across our European sector, and I collaborate with colleagues across Europe and worldwide to help develop and steer our weather room operations.I have been a shift forecaster at DTN (formerly MeteoGroup UK) since September In that time I have progressed to Assistant Forecast Manager, and then to Forecast Manager. I am Forecast Manager for the UK weather team. I am involved in helping to shape the future strategy of MeteoGroup\'s weather rooms.I also still undertake some lead forecast shifts, overseeing such diverse forecasting fields as winter roads; rail infrastructure; energy forecasts, including those for the overhead line network; and media forecasting.I am a Chartered Meteorologist, as of November 2023, and a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society.I also go storm chasing in the USA each year, and have documented numerous supercell thunderstorms and tornadoes. I am the former Head of the Tornado and Research Organisation, TORRO, and am still an active member, being part of the Advisory Board to the Directors.
