ABOUT PAUL KADOTA
I’m passionate about transforming inventions to innovations and establishing higher levels of sustainability in public infrastructure. I see excellent opportunities for the water/wastewater industry to partner with the academic, commercial, institutional, industrial and government sectors to create tight circular economies. For sure, this applies to the water cycle, but the wastewater industry can have a much larger role in the carbon and nitrogen cycles, and begin to make in-roads for cycling phosphorus. My current role in wastewater technologies at Metro Vancouver has me scanning the world for good concepts to test. The winning ideas could advance to pilot or demonstration scale evaluations, while the very best technologies could be considered for full-scale implementation. The intensity of water innovation has never been stronger and with researchers, technology developers, utility practitioners, and industry partners all working together, more sustainable public infrastructure is on the horizon.
