As Trail-Based Recreation Adviser at Nelson City Council I have the pleasure of focusing my attention on helping protect, nurture and grow Nelson\'s world class mountain bike trail network, two Great Rides, a wide variety of excellent walking and running tracks and trails and our city\'s recreation hubs. I work in partnership with Koata Ltd, Tasman Pine Forests Ltd, clubs, trusts, contractors and other stakeholders and agencies to coordinate and develop the region’s trail-based recreation opportunities, improve accessibility across the network and update strategic documents.Relationship and stakeholder management are a critical aspect of the role, as is developing and maintaining protocols, policies and procedures, supervising contracts and operations, overseeing commercial licenses and managing a calendar of recreation events.The icing on the cake is working as part of NCC\'s fantastic Parks and Facilities team, serving to provide the community with unique wellbeing opportunities while showing manaakitanga for our open space environments and connecting people with nature and recreation.
