ABOUT PAUL HAMMOND

I am a seasoned Full Stack Developer and Software Consultant with a strong focus on modern front-ends, particularly those built with ReactJS and Node. My experience ranges from building and optimizing websites for some of the UK\'s best-known organizations, to establishing engineering excellence practices at BBC Sport, to creating a successful paid course on Test-Driven Development (TDD).Throughout my career, I have championed quality-focused, pragmatic software development, understanding the crucial relationship between robust technical foundations and the capacity for sustained feature delivery. I am a firm believer in TDD and functional programming, and am known for my expertise in these areas.I\'ve had the privilege of leading teams towards simplifying codebases and improving automated testing, all while balancing the creation of new features for the business. My approach to teamwork revolves around trust, open communication, and incremental progress, with a strong emphasis on frequent demos of working software and early, regular releases.My commitment to lean techniques and continuous delivery is complemented by my interest in component libraries, design systems, accessibility, web performance, and the JAMStack. I am driven by the pursuit of simplicity and the desire to write code that can be confidently built upon over time.Currently, I\'m focused on representing Pack Software LTD, where I\'m contributing to several agile projects at scale. I\'m also dedicated to continuous personal and professional growth and am always keen to explore new technologies and methodologies.
