About Paul H.
Data is the building block for good plots and engaging stories. Good plots/graphs can be used to track company performance and drive operational excellence. In my 15+ years of experience spanning manufacturing to finance to supply chain and logistics, one of my biggest strengths is the ability to transform data into powerful visuals to drive organizational decisions. I have created KPI\'s to track the effectiveness of process improvement initiatives, developed business and financial models to evaluate the soundness of capital investments, and turned SQL queries into actionable and productive dashboards and alerts. Whether it is to complete the analysis from the ground-level up or create the framework and structure so that my team can fill in the details, I\'m able to use my analytical, people, and leadership skills to enhance any company or project which I am a part of. However, there are times when individual plots alone are not enough. They must be weaved together to form a story. When we implement a strategic initiative we must answer the question \"WHY.\" Why choose this initiative over dozens of dozens of other innovative potentials? To answer this, it would first require in depth analysis of trends, resources, and risks from multiple sources. But once the analysis is done, it would require effective communication and storytelling with senior leadership as well as department leads and front line workers to ensure that they see the value and the vision. There are also times when we need to use the data to put ourselves in the story. When I led the implementation of a new Warehouse Management System in Northern California we often had to create test scenarios for process flows that we have never seen before because they differ significantly from the current flow. This meant simulating the warehouse conditions in the data and visualizing the actions the workers must take so we can determine opportunities for change and improvement before the final process is implemented. For these major initiatives, I\'m able to blend analysis with creativity to drive successful change and transformation.
