I currently develop and produce custom formulated UV-Curable and Solvent based industrial printing inks, Overprint Varnishes and Coatings, and Adhesives. The inks and OPV\'s are designed to be printed using screen or flexographic printing. Adhesives can be manually or automatically syringe applied. The position I had at ADS Technology involved supporting the production of proprietary aerospace components. I provide process engineering expertise, including skills related to statistical QC and DOE. The next most recent position was Senior Chemist for ITW Graphics. ITW Graphics produced Heat Transfer Labels for the Sports Equipment, Appliance, Cosmetic and Apparel industries. I was responsible for the development of UV curable and solvent based screen printing inks primarily, but also flexo inks and other coatings for flexible substrates. My expertise is formulation of UV curable inks and coatings and I have been working in this area for more than 20 years. Beside formulating, I was responsible for supervising the production of inks in our ink department, and supervision of lab technicians, and application technicians. I was responsible for product development from conception through commercialization, including introduction and troubleshooting new products at customer locations. I developed many analytical test procedures for QC purposes related to ink production, raw material qualification, and finished goods quality. I also hold two patents, as co-inventor, related to Heat Transfer Labels. Specialties: Formulating UV curable and Solvent based Inks and Coatings and adhesives. Minitab: Statistical Process Control Minitab: Statistical Design of Experiments, Mixture Design Coating and Printing Process expert.
