Provide engineering expertise to support a network of booster stations, motors, switch yards, substations (26-138 kV), transformers, tank farms, terminals, and other critical energy infrastructure across 14 US states.• Resolve complex maintenance issues and troubleshoot equipment faults/malfunctions.• Review preventive maintenance procedures to optimize system efficiency.• Review and approve electrical specifications, drawings, technical reports for quality and accuracy.• Review equipment design/sizing, grounding, thermographic surveys, and testing procedures.• Review and updates Colonial Pipeline Company electrical codes/standards to ensure compliance with ANSI, API, NEC, NESC, NEMA, and NFPA.• Responsible for the purchase of electrical equipment, contractor services, and materials.• Perform root-cause analyses of equipment failures, including motors rated up to Horsepower. Develop alternatives and implement solutions for long-term reliability.• Review load flow, short-circuit, power factor, power quality studies to improve safety and reliability utilizing Colonial Pipeline’s design practices and engineering standards.• Support field services with maintenance and troubleshooting recommendations.• Attend factory acceptance testing of vendor equipment for Colonial Pipeline’s field locations.• Support Colonial Pipeline’s electrical protection and system upgrade program that includes automatic transfer switches, battery systems, cables, capacitor banks, circuit breakers, current & voltage transformers, generators, electrical panels, HVAC units, manual transfer switches, motors, motor control centers, motor-operated switches, motor starters, neutral grounding resistors, power quality equipment, protective relays (GE Multilin 350, B90, M60, T35), surge protective devices, switches, switchgears, transformers, UPS systems, vacuum starter replacement and variable frequency drives.
