About Paul E. Kotz

I am a teacher and advisor at my core. Seeing people reach their goals is what I work and live for. Currently, I teach in a Doctorate of Leadership program and serve as director of the Doctorate of Business Administration program at Saint Mary\'s University of Minnesota. I also have over 30 years of experience as a teacher, professor and school administrator. My professional experience includes curriculum design, enhancing teaching and learning, facilities design, and renovation. I am highly skilled at problem solving, strategic planning, finance budget management, scheduling faculty and courses, enrollment growth, marketing, and policy development. I bring practical decision tools and discussion to assisting in creating leadership opportunities and dealing with difficult situations that we all face in our organizations.What I have been given as a gift through life experience, research and the school of hard knocks, I share with you. I have learned and witnessed that if you open your eyes and ears, you can live your life staying present to the positive. Maybe I can inspire you, or challenge you to see a situation in an entirely new way. I continue to be a lifelong learner with years of education and business expertise. This includes working as faculty and advisor with undergraduate, graduate students and since 2013, in a doctoral program in leadership. Kotz has taught and served as an executive coach to graduate students and business professionals; and has assisted high school students in navigating adolescence. He is a resident of Saint Paul, Minnesota and continues to collect new experiences that shape and challenge his perspectives. In 2018, he released \"Something Happened Today\"- a book that addresses seeing the good each day, and facing difficulties and adversity with hope and compassion.Kotz currently teaches the subjects of Ethics, Organizational Effectiveness, Strategies for Adult Learning Theory, and Statistical Research Methods at Saint Mary\'s University - Doctorate in Leadership program. He has also been a continual presence with the Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia students in assisting in their creation of proposals to stay current and change existing health care practices.He also served as a manager for customer service at North American Life and Casualty prior to his education pursuits, and director for General Education at Anoka Hennepin Technical College.
