Responsible for the application of geotechnical and rock mechanics principles at six mine sites across all Nyrstar Tennessee Operations. Revise ground control management plans and reinforcement systems to ensure safe mining practices can occur practically and economically. Develop alternative methods of ground support through investigation and implementation of new hardware or methodology.Maintain and develop geotechnical database including rock strength, discontinuity information, and rock mass characterization. Perform preventative and reactive assessments/investigations of potentially hazardous ground conditions or incidents, delivering practical recommendations to minimize risk or remediate any damage that occurred. Apply drone/LiDAR (Emesent Hovermap, Exyn) scanning technology to underground and surface mining areas to safely assess conditions in otherwise inaccessible environments.
