ABOUT PAUL BURCHMORE

Over 30 years in the banking industry across many diverse roles. The last 18 months have been in Risk Governance, managing a team across EMEA focusing on regulatory deliverables. Prior to this I was part of the Regulatory Relations team, responsible for managing and coordinating the Risk Divisions regulatory interactions and deliverables, including the management of a number of intensive onsite regulatory inspections. I worked in Market Risk/Risk Governance for most of the preceding 10 years, creating and managing a regulatory capital management and reporting team; I was also responsible for regulatory compliance assurance, regulatory engagement and the implementation of new regulations.The first half of my career saw me working in various other roles, starting within Internal Audit before moving into the business where I managed the delivery of new products into the dealing room and subsequently worked in various dealing rooms around the world to manage the integration of acquisitions.My roles have been geographically diverse and have required regular interaction with executive management and regulators. I have experience of building and managing successful teams and building strong lines of communications with colleagues and regulators. I have a reputation for delivering results, building teams and for implementing a strong control environment. I am experienced in the implementation of procedures and controls to address regulatory requirements and for the implementation of ongoing monitoring and assurance processes.My experience in Internal Audit, at Standard Chartered and HSBC gave me a good overview of many banking activities which provided me with a strong platform for the rest of my career.
