ABOUT PAUL BROWNING
Pupil Engagement Development Lead since January 2022 & proponent/strategy developer using the Lundy Model of Child Participation in Educational Trusts. Prior to this, I was the Head Teacher at Stepney Primary School since May 2006, having joined the school as Deputy in 2004, after teaching at schools in Hull and the East Riding. Educated at Keele University, University College Wales and Hull University, I have a BA(Hons) in American Studies/History plus postgraduate qualifications including the NPQH. A musician since an early age, I have a keen interest in children developing their talents and is especially passionate about the impact that young people may have on their world.My key strengths are in school leadership; project management and the promotion of Pupil Agency. I am currently directly responsible for- Coordinating the development of high quality pupil representation across Thrive through the various forms of schools councils in the Trust’s schools- Supporting schools in working towards their Eco-Schools Green Flag awards, ensuring active pupil participating in action planning and action taking- Developing the involvement of all Thrive schools in the International Pupil Council and Global Partnership projects and work to secure involvement from Hull Schools beyond Thrive- Coordinate the timely revision and adoption of Thrive policies.
