Part of the Senior Engineering Management Team. I am responsible for the Data Engineering Tribe which is responsible for the real time / as close to real time processing of data within the organisation and the surfacing of data for the Business Data Analysts. With 3 internal Scrum Delivery Managers and 2 nearshore delivery managers reporting directly into myself, who then have a mixture of Developers, Testers and Solution Business Analysts reporting into them. The squads are a mixture of full time employees and nearshore resources. 6 squads with a mixture of internal resources and augmented nearshore resources and full nearshore squads. Working with Product Managers, Programme Managers,Architecture, Business Stakeholders, I am responsible for making sure the squads are resourced correctly to deliver what is expected of them. Teams building solutions in Java, AWS infrastructure, SAP Hana, Talend, AWS Data Lake using Oracle, DB2, Cassandra, Aurora. Working with the other Principals we collaborate to ensure we have good working standards in place, to allow the easy integration of new internal resources and our nearshore partners. Also listening to the concerns of the teams to improve the working environment. Responsible for third party software providers to make sure they are integrating with internal resources, following best practices and making sure they deliver quality on time. As the owner of the Data Engineering systems I am responsible for working with Service to make sure they have the right contacts when there are issues and making sure my teams provide them with the information that is required in a timely manner.

Over 19 years in IT, starting in Operations / First Line Support and now an Agile / Scrum Delivery Manager who has also had some involvement in Project Management.
