I am mainly responsible for advising on Capex projects from a contentious and non-contentious perspective and providing support to Holcim\'s contracting business. Since joining the company in 2023, I have been the lead Counsel on the Tilbury grinding station project located at Tilbury Docks, London. This is a multi-let project consisting of approximately 15 principle packages managed by Holcim\'s internal team with support from an EPCM provider. I am also the lead Counsel in respect of Holcim\'s involvement in the Peak Cluster Joint Venture (a 200km pipeline from the Peak District to the Irish Sea for the transport of CO2) and Holcim\'s carbon capture project.

ABOUT PAUL BENSON
After studying law at Lancaster University I moved to Perth, Australia to undertake postgraduate studies including a Master of Commercial and Resources Law. I then began my career in the mining and resources team at DLA Piper before moving inhouse with Barrick Gold Corporation.I spent 9 years in Australia split between Perth and Sydney before having a 2 year period as Legal Counsel for South East Asia for what was United Technologies Corporation. My career has spanned a number of industries including mining, energy, building services, real estate development and more recently, as Senior Legal Counsel at Holcim, construction materials.
