ABOUT PAUL BATES
An enthusiastic and motivated individual with good communication acumen currently employed as a Business Development Manager working on product design and the maintenance strategy of new rolling stock, and the re-franchise opportunities of Desiro Classic fleets for the Siemens Mobility Division. An experienced Maintenance / Project Manager who has implemented transformation changes, managed, or being a key member of maintenance and business critical projects.My current role requires me to liaise with teams in the UK, Germany and Austria resulting in international travel, my role also requires me to be a key contact point for international internal departments, members of the DFT, rolling stock owners and rolling stock operators.Prior to my current role I was the Head of Production at Kings Heath Rail Care Facility managing a team in excess of Ninety employees located in Northampton, Birmingham and Crewe, responsible for the delivery of 84 Class 350 / 319 Units for daily service, and to improve the fleet MAA (Moving Annual Average) between defects.Additionally, to working with Siemens I assist in the lecturing of students at the University of Derby and facilitate Projects for students in the UK and in Spain within Logistic and Operation excellence.I’m a member of the Charted Management Institute and hold full Chartered Management status, currently looking for a new challenge to use the experience and knowledge gained within the rail and motor industries to progress to the next level in my professional career.
