Within the framework of legislation, regulations and directives, ensures that the Government of Alberta Compensation and Classification plans support the achievement of business, operational plans and overall goals. • Lead Compensation and Classification/Job Evaluation teams responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of Compensation and Job Evaluation programs for the Alberta Public Service. • Provide effective Leadership to professional consultants in the two focus areas of Compensation and Job Evaluation. As well, provides expert policy consulting advice and recommendations to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Deputy Minister and Public Service Commissioner, Ministry senior Executives and to members of the HR Community. • Lead role in developing the bargaining mandate (monetary and non-monetary items), and providing direction, assistance and support to the labour relations team as it relates to compensation and job evaluation issues. • Responsible for identifying program gaps and opportunities for action and develops effective solutions for current and emerging issues. • Conduct needs assessments with client ministries and research on current trends in compensation and job evaluation. • Develop effective partnerships with client ministries and other government jurisdictions by networking, gathering and sharing information on best practices.
