   Please allow me to introduce myself! I am Patty Durell, a leader, educator, motivator, people connector, wife to an amazing husband, daughter, and the mom of the best cat ever! I have a passion for empowering and challenging people to be their best and has been doing so for over 25 years.Through my younger years I battled depression, addiction, and being overweight. I am a completely different person now!In my mid-twenties I learned that if I was willing to fail but didn’t give up, I was capable of accomplishing things that seemed impossible. I learned this through a strength training program called High Intensity Training (HIT). Within a few months of starting HIT, I completely altered my body composition, losing 30 pounds, and has maintained it ever since. I was so empowered by my new-found feelings of confidence, positive self-image, and sense of purpose that I wanted to share it with everyone, especially those challenged by a lack of self-esteem.My passion started as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), helping people overcome life changing orthopedic and neurological events. During this time, my husband and I started a personal training business to help discharged physical therapy patients. Our training business expanded to include people of all ages and stages of life, from those who had never exercised to professional athletes and eventually outgrew other people’s gyms. I opened Rock Solid Fitness in 2012, a relationship based, personal fitness coaching and consulting studio.While overcoming a tremendous fear that was holding me back, public speaking, I learned I was good at it and it has become a new passion. I love speaking about Building a Successful Company, Leadership, Exercise Science, and Self Care. I have been a speaker at many local and national events and conferences.I also love to serve the community, connecting people to businesses and supporting local community charities.
