About Patty Eakes
Patty is an accomplished trial lawyer. She has tried over 100 cases to verdict in state and federal court. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense and employment disputes. Patty has represented clients in breach of contract cases, patent disputes, securities fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets and a wide variety of employment discrimination and wage and hour cases. In addition, Patty conducts investigations for both private companies and government agencies. Patty also regularly defends companies and individuals in grand jury investigations and criminal prosecutions of all kinds.Prior to forming the firm, Patty was a King County Senior Deputy Prosecutor in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions. Patty directed the investigation and prosecution of numerous high profile homicide cases and other violent crimes. In 2001 she was selected to prosecute Gary Ridgway, the most prolific serial killer in the United States for more than 50 murders referred to as the Green River murders. As a member of the Labor and Employment Section, Patty advised county agencies on a wide variety of employment related issues including requests for accommodation, discipline and termination. She also defended King County in both State and Federal Court in employment lawsuits.Patty was awarded “Lawyer of the Year” by the King County Bar Association and named a “SuperLawyer” in Washington Law & Politics Magazine. She was named one of Benchmark Litigation’s “Top 250 Women in Litigation” in June of 2015, and Benchmark also identified her as a 2016 “Litigation Star”. She is a member of the Asian Bar Association and Washington Women Lawyers; and sits on the boards of the Seattle Police Foundation and DAWN, a domestic violence organization.
