ABOUT PATTY D.

Propel America offers a new way for young adults to move quickly to a job that gives them a stable career in healthcare while continuing their education. With individual guidance and support, tuition-free training that also earns college credit, and guaranteed interviews with employer partners ready to hire, Propel removes the barriers many young people face on their path to achieving economic stability. As the Chief Program Officer at Propel, I am responsible for setting the vision for the organization\'s training programs and ensuring that Fellows have a transformative experience putting them on the path to economic freedom. Prior to joining Propel, I was the Chief Impact Officer at OneGoal, where I oversaw the organization\'s efforts to achieve impact at scale. I joined OneGoal as the founding Executive Director in its Massachusetts region, supporting its mission to ensure that every young person have an equitable opportunity to pursue their greatest post-secondary aspirations. Prior to OneGoal I was the Sr. Director of Education and Outreach with the Strategic Data Project (SDP) at the Center for Education Policy Research, Harvard University. There, I oversaw the two year fellowship program with a mission to transform the use of data in education to improve student achievement. I began my career in education as an NYC teaching fellow in the Bronx and later taught at the Harlem Children’s Zone. Upon completing my graduate work, I joined the newly created Progress Report Team in the New York City (NYC) Department of Education’s Office of Accountability. There, I supported increased efforts to develop data informed decision-making practices at the school- and district- levels. Among these efforts were the NYC Progress Reports, the NYC Quality Review, ARIS (an online data reporting system), and increasing the availability of data for all stakeholders through Inquiry Teams. Before joining SDP, I worked with 25 NYC schools across all NYC boroughs, guiding teachers and principals to conduct analytics of student achievement with the goal of improving instructional practices.
