Gold Star Sailing (GSS) is a 501-c-3 non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to providing unique opportunities and adventures to the surviving children of fallen military service members in order to instill self-confidence, build character, teach teamwork, develop leadership, and promote healing in a positive environment of hope, adventure, and friendship. We host a one week sail adventure for Gold Star teenagers. These are teens who lost a parent serving our country. The camp is built on the principals of team building, leadership development, and adventure. This program is offered to Gold Star teenagers at no cost. Gold Star Sailing is not a grief camp. Each year we see teens arrive as strangers and leave as family. Thanks to the veterans, the local sailing community, and generosity of wonderful donors, this camp changes lives by showing these amazing young people of world of adventure, friendship, and hope.
