About Patrick Sebring

I want to push the boundaries of technology and entertainment with new experiences that change the way we interact with and view the world.TLDR: Entered Tech industry young, found my way into game dev, left for AR/VR and returned to back to games in 2023.Spent years in the tech and the aerospace industry before entering game development. Shipped a number of titles and a ton of things. Left the game industry to work on AR/VR. Worked on the original HoloLens and led the design prototyping team for the HoloLens shell and Windows Mixed Reality. Came up with MRTK (mixed reality toolkit) and fostered it\'s creation at Microsoft. Joined Meta Reality Labs Research working on the future of XR input. Left Meta to join Apple and work on the Vision Pro (undisclosed nature). Got burnt out in the AR/VR space and returned to game development at Epic Games. Helped ship Lego Fortnite only months after starting. Working on UEFN, tools and 1st party games.Backstory: I wrote my first videogame in Atari basic for my younger brother at 12. It was a text based adventure game that only had failure in the end (kobayashi maru). I come from a family of engineers and scientists. I am a college dropout that majored in japanese linguistics (anime was my jam and I wanted to work for sony) and minored in CS. My path is not linear but the amount I\'ve learned is invaluable.
