What gets me out of bed each morning? The challenge! I love to set the pace, so we can climb.I enjoy building trust with my team and embracing challenges, so we can run toward opportunities and find success. I bring my whole self to take on challenges that matter and put others first to ensure that we all have a better chance at victory.Over my military career, one thing has remained clear. The more we share with each other, the more we risk together.Everyone is a work in progress, and growth in others brings me strength and satisfaction. I am energized by learning, which enables me to thrive in dynamic work environments. I dig into analyzing symptoms, identifying what is wrong, and finding a solution. I take ownership for anything I commit to, and if I can’t deliver I automatically find ways to make it up. My conscientiousness, near obsession for doing things right, and impeccable ethics all form my reputation: utterly dependable.I do this by allowing for growth, adapting, remaining calm, and never stopping- I’m also open and honest about who I am, what I’ve done, and what I can do… I thrive on feedback from others- People trust me to get things done- I’m a deep thinker who’s intent on getting things right – this allows me to find new ways of doing things- I’m determined to be the best, and I won’t stop until I deliverI bring four key skills to the team:1 – I’m a strategic thinker. Continuous assessment of stakeholders, environmental trends, and analysis of our goals. I articulate the competitive environment and design approaches with impact.2 - I am a wicked problems expert! I balance shifting, incomplete, contradictory, and changing factors to identify points of inflection and adapt.3 - I am a team builder. I assemble experts, prioritize tasks, and create milestone-focused timelines to deliver results using common-sense teamwork. I do this by listening first, and drawing out team members’ views to create buy-in. If unsure about what direction to take, I experiment until I find something that works.4 – Most importantly, I build relationships. I build trust not only within my team but across my organization, extending to other agencies, as well as international partners. I lead with empathy to break down barriers.What drives me are my core values: service and family. Serving and helping others is my highest calling. While I have done amazing things, none of it would be possible without the love and support of my family! These two values make me who I am.
