About Patrick Kincaid
Chief of Staff and strategy / operations executive with 15+ years of experience partnering with CEOs and founders across biotech, healthcare, and AI-enabled organizations. I specialize in building operating systems, governance models, and cross-functional execution engines that turn strategy into measurable results in regulated, high-complexity environments. My work sits at the intersection of executive leadership, P&L ownership, and applied AI—where the challenge is not interest in technology, but converting capability into accountable, real-world decision-making. I have led teams of 75+ people, owned full P & Ls with EBITDA targets up to 10M+, and scaled human-in-the-loop AI and analytics in FDA, HIPAA, GxP, and GDPR-aligned contexts.Across roles, I am typically brought in when organizations are scaling, transitioning, or facing execution complexity. As Chief of Staff to CEOs and as a fractional COO, I act as a force multiplier: establishing operating cadence, clarifying decision ownership, aligning leadership teams, and ensuring that board- and investor-level priorities translate into coordinated, on-time execution. As founder of the Kincaid Group, I have served as an embedded COO- and Chief of Staff–equivalent for early-stage through growth companies, assuming direct ownership of execution, leadership enablement, and operating model design during periods of growth, ambiguity, or transition. Earlier work in clinical research and academic teaching underpins a disciplined approach to regulatory rigor, executive education, and leadership development.I am drawn to impact-focused environments—biotech, health tech, and clean energy—where clarity is needed, structure is missing, and outcomes matter, and I partner with leadership teams to turn complexity into progress.
Experience
Founder & Fractional COO
Sep 2025 — Present
Founder and fractional Chief Operating Officer for an early-stage AI health and life-event advocacy company, accountable for building the operating foundation across governance, product execution, compliance posture, and go-to-market readiness. The organization develops human-in-the-loop, non-diagnostic AI systems that support patient understanding, care navigation, and billing transparency in regulated healthcare contexts.Partner directly with engineering, R&D, and clinical advisors to translate AI capability into governed workflows, escalation paths, and operating systems that preserve human judgment and accountability. The platform leverages LLM-orchestrated workflows, structured document analysis, and expert oversight to deliver non-diagnostic, non-treatment decision support focused on care navigation, question formulation, second-opinion readiness, and billing review—designed to maximize limited physician time while improving transparency and outcomes. I owned the end-to-end operating build including SOPs, HIPAA-aligned data handling and infrastructure, governance, website build, early GTM, pricing, and client onboarding, while partnering directly with engineers and R&D on agent design, escalation logic, and roadmap execution, informed by graduate-level training in applied data science and AI. The company has secured its first paying client, completed pilot engagements, engaged two clinical advisors, and established an informal research partnership with Alzheimer’s Research. I also serve as operating partner and mentor to the CEO—a veteran nurse and former patient advocate—supporting first-time founder development across product leadership, decision cadence, and organizational design, reflecting a commitment to making U.S. healthcare more navigable, transparent, and fair.
