The Senior Tribal Climate Resilience Liaison at the Affiliated Tribes of the Northwest Indians (ATNI) and the Northwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (NW CASC) at the University of Washington advises Tribes on climate change issues, resource vulnerability, and adaptation actions. Through regular outreach to Tribal communities, the Liaison supports Tribal sovereignty and self-determination, and connects resources and expertise to Tribal nations to assess climate science and adaptation needs and inform them of available resources. This position requires respectful interfacing between Tribal leaders, professionals, and academics, and serves to translate and communicate climate science research to Tribal officials and resource managers. This role provides climate adaptation planning support, education, and training to Tribal governments and communities, and also manages an internship program, working in concert with the Assistant Tribal Liaison.
