We are Native Village of Eyak The Native Village of Eyak (NVE) is a federally recognized Tribe located in Cordova, Alaska, rooted in the enduring homelands of the dAXunhyuu, the Eyak people. Since time immemorial, Eyak people have lived along the eastern shores of Prince William Sound, the Copper River Delta, and the surrounding lands and waters that continue to sustain our culture, identity, and way of life. Today, NVE serves as the central Tribal government for Native Village of Eyak citizens, carrying forward our responsibility to protect our people, uphold our sovereignty, and strengthen the future of our community. Guided by our ancestors and supported by the resilience of our Tribal Members, we work to advance self-determination through culturally grounded programs, strong governance, and a commitment to healing, stewardship, and opportunity. NVE provides a wide range of services that support Tribal citizens across all stages of life – including healthcare, cultural revitalization, education, social services, subsistence and food sovereignty initiatives, environmental stewardship, and community development. Through these efforts, we honor the past while building systems that reflect the needs, priorities, and values of our people today.
