About Patrick Zimet
Patrick is the Team Lead (Acting) for Risk, Insurance, and Professional Services and an International Trade Specialist in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. He manages a team of five International Trade Specialists and oversees a portfolio of sectors key to U.S. economic competitiveness, including corporate risk management, insurance, digital assets, financial technology, education services, legal and consulting services, health services, and architecture, engineering, and construction services. In this role, Patrick works with foreign governments and U.S. industry to promote and enhance the competitiveness of U.S. companies entering or operating in foreign markets. Patrick has 13 years of experience in international trade and business development, foreign policy, and national security in the public and private sectors, as well as internationally. Prior to joining the U.S. Department of Commerce, he worked as a national security and international business development consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton and The Cohen Group and in the international development sector in the Peace Corps in St. Lucia and at a large international NGO in Bangladesh.Patrick holds an M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Political Science from Indiana University.
