ABOUT PATRICK HOLCOMB

I build bridges that span the divide between strategic vision and reality.Over the last two decades, I’ve worked at the intersection of defense, technology, and operations—helping organizations turn ambition into execution. Whether standing up new programs, leading cross-functional engineering teams, or modernizing how work actually gets done, my focus is the same: align people, process, and purpose, then get out of the way so progress can happen.I’m a former Marine Corps officer turned defense-tech leader, with experience spanning autonomous systems, satellite communications, ground and naval logistics, and large-scale organizational change. I’ve led teams through ambiguity, built systems that replaced friction with clarity, and helped organizations deliver complex capabilities on cost, on schedule, and with fewer surprises than expected. What I’m known for:• Translating between engineers, operators, executives, and government customers• Leading change without theatrics—and without losing the people doing the work• Building structures that scale, instead of heroics that burn outAlong the way, I’ve managed programs and assets north of $300M, helped capture and execute new government contracts, and introduced process improvements that actually stuck—because they were designed for humans, not org charts.I’m also the author of Where the Seams Meet, an award-winning novel. Writing fiction turns out to be great training for leadership: it sharpens empathy, clarifies communication, and reminds you that every system is ultimately made of people trying to do their best with imperfect information. If you’re working in defense or emerging tech and care about execution, trust, and building things that last, we’ll probably have a good conversation.
