About Patrick Rowe

Dr. Patrick Rowe has over 30 years of practical experience in all applications of field and ground robotics. His specific areas of expertise include unmanned ground vehicle navigation, computer vision, 3d perception, SLAM, advanced path planning, robotic manipulation and control, and overall system integration of complete robotic vehicles.With his work in both industry and academia, Patrick has successfully proposed and led numerous multi-million dollar robotics research and development efforts for both government and commercial customers. These projects include developing numerous indoor and outdoor mobile robots, advanced 2D and 3D perception systems, and robotic manipulators large and small. Patrick served in a leadership position on the Technical Advisory Board of the Robotics Technology Consortium. He holds 7 patents related to robotics and is the recipient of the 2006 US Army Quality Award for the Small Business Innovation Research program. Patrick received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University.
