ABOUT PATRICK ROEMER

Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Patrick Roemer is a consultant working as a Construction Manager as Advisor (CMa) for the Department of Homeland Security. Previously, he was a Construction Engineer at the New York Power Authority where he managed, inspected and controlled work performed by contractors, engineers, and inspectors on projects including electrical, civil, mechanical, structural and instrumentation & control engineering.During his career in the military he was the Base Civil Engineer and Civil Engineer Squadron Commander in the 107th Airlift Wing in Niagara Falls, New York. He was also the Base Fire Marshall and managed Civil Engineering, Fire & Rescue Services, Air Base Readiness and Environmental Management. Lt Col Roemer is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and was commissioned as an Engineer Officer in the United States Army Corps of Engineers in 1985. He resigned his federal commission and was commissioned by New York State in the Air National Guard in 1994 where he served until his retirement in 2013. During his time in the Army, Lt Col Roemer’s assignments included duty as a Platoon Leader, Logistics Officer, Executive Officer and Company Commander with units in Virginia, Missouri and Georgia. He is a combat veteran of operations JUST CAUSE (Panama, 90), DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM (Saudi Arabia and Iraq, 90-91) and RESTORE HOPE (Somalia, 92-93). While assigned to the Air National Guard, Lt Col Roemer’s duties included being a Civil Engineer, Executive Officer, Base Civil Engineer and Squadron Commander. He is a combat veteran of operations ENDURING FREEDOM (Oman, 02), IRAQI FREEDOM (Iraq, 08) and ENDURING FREEDOM (Ethiopia, 11-12). Lt Col (Retired) Roemer lives in Lewiston with his wife Cyndi. They have six grown children; Dr. Jay Van Dusen (DDS), Justin Van Dusen, Jordan Van Dusen, CPT (Retired) Sean Roemer, MAJ Shannon Roemer-Eoute and Dr. Jenna Van Dusen-Phillips (DO).
