ABOUT PATRICK NIE
I am a Computer Engineer with experiencing ranging in the IT and operations technology(OT) space. I have been the business relationship manager of multiple operations facilities across the JM Smucker company. In my roles at JM Smucker, I gained valuable experience as I worked with plant operations and corporate IT. My post graduate skills gained include VMWare (ESXi, vCenter, VDP, vSAN, vSwitches and dvSwitches), Windows Server 2008R2, 2012R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022 administration. Cisco UCS physical server troubleshooting and administration. Dell EMC PowerEdge and SAN troubleshooting and administration. Eaton UPS and Panduit PDU administration and monitoring. I have extensive experience with backup solutions including Veeam and Veritas BackupExec. My backup experience also includes backing up to Dell Data Domains. At Rockwell Automation, I have grown in my roles from a Contractor, Engineer, Sr. Engineer, Consultant Engineer, and now a Solutions Architect. Throughout all of these roles, I have solved complex operations technology issues that have spanned across multiple disciplines. During this time, I have also earned my Masters in Business Administration to further aid in my problem solving and project management skills. I have been the remote support technical lead of one of our Enterprise Fortune 50 customers. With the technical lead role, I was in charge of new deployments, team documentation, and act as the technical escalation for all issues across our 24/7/365 Infrastructure, Support and Monitoring team. I have developed scopes of work (SOWs) and priced solutions ranging from $1K to over $30M. I have also adopted new technologies through acquisitions and designed cost-saving solutions to strengthen our MSP offerings. With all new solutions, I have developed technical documentation to aid our support teams. On the side, I have done some consulting and aided in the deployment of multiple AWS EC2 instances. My passion is really anything where I can grow and learn in the IT/OT space. My skill set has primarily grown within the OT space but my interests span many areas.
