ABOUT PATRICK MCDONOGH

First and foremost, I love adding value and building things. Whether it’s front office algorithmic trading applications, market surveillance system, or property development, I enjoy adding value by creating something, especially when it involves IT and programming. Ever since writing my first program where I saw some output on the screen the area of IT has always fascinated me.When I leave the office I find myself still writing code and deploying applications onto the cloud. The application I am the fondest of is the IG Index auto trading application I built which monitors the market and trades on my client account.Today, I work as an enterprise architect across the financial, connectivity, IoT and cloud arenas building high throughput, resilient, available applications. I believe this is the foundation of any good piece of software. Adding analytics on top of the data to deliver true insights is where my passion lies and I enjoy seeing people get value out of the software I build. Working with others in a team, helping each other to achieve goals that sometimes may seem impossible is what motivates me. Getting together, analysing information, creating a strategy, and then seeing it through implementation is a key driving force to my productivity.Bringing the business and technology closer together is where I truly excel.
