   Responsibilities:•Works directly with customers to gather, synthesize and convert user research into concepts that differentiate products in the market and ensure customer safety.•Works directly with customers to develop and evaluate new product features, user interfaces and ergonomic designs, to ensure use safety•Designs early evaluative (formative) and simulated use (summative) human factor studies to address the needs of the requirements setting, design testing, verification and validation stages of medical device development•Writes human factors engineering protocols and reports as support for registration documentation•Collaborates with program manager and project team members to define project scope, project plan and product specifications•Determine project parameters and assignments for self and other resources to ensure effective utilization of resources•Provides leadership and guidance for non-routine problems requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of human factors design techniques, procedures and criteriaDevelops risk management documents including risk analysis (hazard analysis, FMEA)•Reviews and guides the resolution of human factors issues and assures technical requirements are met•Creates and/or reviews product usability specification, user profile, use scenario, task analysis, HFE summary reports and use risk analysis documents•Trains/guides systems engineers to perform human factors activities and provide human factors support across the product life-cycle including user needs identification, development of user profiles, usage scenarios, task analysis, requirements specification, user interface design support, usability testing, and user error analysis
