The Mount Desert Land & Garden Preserve is an astonishing collection of historic gardens and breathtaking natural lands located between Seal Harbor and Northeast Harbor on Mount Desert Island, Maine. Among our collection of gardens is the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Garden, designed in concert between Beatrix Farrand and Abby Rockefeller. Thanks to its design pedigree, the Abby is among the most significant gardens in the lexicon of American horticultural history, and is a crowning achievement in Ms. Farrand\'s extensive portfolio. Abutting and intersecting the Acadia National Park, the Preserve\'s natural lands are a testament to the Rockefeller family\'s generations-deep commitment to stewarding the natural landscape and sharing them with the visiting public. The gardens and landscapes of the Preserve are iconic, and are a model of ecological and historic stewardship.
