ABOUT PATRICK LUMLEY
I am a professional specialist with over 33 years of experience in the downstream portion of the Oil and Gas Industry. I am primarily specialized in sulphur forming and handling from the tail end of Sulphur Recovery process to the export terminal. The first 15 years of my career was developed in the operation of the worlds largest sulphur based fertilizer facility located in Canada. It was here where I learned the hands on skills associated with operating and maintaining process, handling, storage and exporting systems. I started as a lead shift operator and worked up to the operations manager position during these years. Over the last 17 years I have managed my own consulting business where I am responsible for developing and managing all aspects and skills of running of a small business. This included strategic planning, business development, bookkeeping, accounting, financing, commissioning, training, auditing, studies, adequacy checks, engineering and consulting. I worked for end user, engineering and equipment companies preforming roles such as project manager, engineering manager, process engineer, mechanical engineer, subject matter expert, lead consultant and commissioning supervisor.I am highly experienced in the selection, design and operation of various technologies associated with handling sulphur in both liquid and solid form. Technologies such as: Liquid storage pits, tanks, pumps, filters, piping, truck/rail wagon loaders and process control systems. Steam, electric and glycol heating systems Sulphur Bentonite Plant design, process control and operation Wet Prill, Rotoform, Granulation, Slating forming systems Storage silos and flat storage buildings including deflagration, fire monitoring and suppression design and control Material Handling Systems – Portal and linear stackers/reclaimers, conveyors of all types/aspects, transfer towers/chutes, ship/truck/rail wagon loaders, block reclamation and remelting Exhaust emission, dust control and dust suppression systems – Closed and Open Loop ship exhaust scrubbers, dust collection wet scrubbers, water/chemical spraying and foam suppressionThis type of business involved travelling to many countries and working with various nationalities performing multiple roles.
