About Patrick Kling
I am an electrical engineer with 30 years of experience possessing a rare combination of signal processing, networking, software and hardware expertise. These skills have been used to educate, manage, and motivate the teams of which I have been a part.My signal processing experience includes: adaptive spatial and temporal filters, 2D and 3D image processing, SONAR, RADAR, communications, computed tomography, robotic controls, real-time modelling, and optimizing for embedded systems. My software experience includes structured design environments (CASE) such as Rational. My teams have attained SEI level 4 and have been trained in ISO My language experience has been extensive: C, C++ C#, Java, Ada, APL, Forth, OpenCL, CUDA, VHDL, Verilog, Prolog, LISP, Python, Ruby, etc. New languages have been quickly mastered and I have written an optimizing compiler. I am familiar with optimizing on most popular CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs.Several of my positions have given me the opportunity to design analog filters, diagnostics, specialized I/O boards, and to design a structured ASIC.My open system background includes experience with: TCP/IP, PCIe, CANopen, vxWorks, Linux, Windows (including drivers), HPC clusters, X11/Motif, and DDR.
